Leadership Reflection

A research-informed developmental reflection for leaders, educators, and organizations.

How to use this reflection

Think across your recent leadership, teaching, supervision, policy, or service experiences, especially moments when you interpreted another person’s performance, participation, behavior, progress, or response.

Respond based on what you tend to do in practice, not what you believe a good leader should do. There are no right answers and no score. The purpose is to notice where your attention naturally goes, what you may overlook, and what questions may help you see more fully.

What this is, and is not

This is a developmental reflection, not a validated assessment, diagnostic tool, leadership type, benchmark, or performance-management instrument. It does not measure another person’s capacity. It is designed to help you examine your own interpretive habits and leadership responses.

Reflection items

Choose the response that best describes your usual practice across recent experiences.

Before you review your pattern

This standalone version does not transmit or store your responses. They remain in your browser unless a future website version explicitly tells you otherwise.

The Hidden Capacity Lens

  1. What am I seeing?
  2. What conditions may be shaping what I am seeing?
  3. What capacity might I be missing?

Your reflection

Your responses do not produce a score. They offer a snapshot of where your attention appears to go more and less consistently across the experiences you had in mind.
